Recorded in 1960 for the label Pickwick Records, The Happy Moog was created by the jazz percussionist Harry Breuer and Jean Jacques Perrey, although the latter synth virtuoso was not credited at the time. Putting it into some musical context, the initial idea was to make a children's album using what was then and still is a landmark of music technology, which had opened up creative doorways to previously unimaginable noises. In the end, it was a strange, surrealist ode to futurism as was, pieced together from highly complex arrangements and movements.
