The unmistakable sound of this filter can be heard in countless dub and reggae mixes that King Tubby created, and it remains an essential tool for achieving that distinctive tone.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSeven years ago, I discovered DIY electronics with the help of a new friend, whom I met by chance through a mutual connection. He showed me that it was possible to recreate high-quality audio equipment, repair and modify real-world gear—this was the start of my journey into electronics.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eOur first project was to modify an old Soundcraft 600 series mixer. We reconfigured the chassis to add a new auxiliary send and, of course, space for the future\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eHipass Filter\u003c\/strong\u003e.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAs a musician, engineer, and reggae dub producer, I had always been obsessed with replicating that signature sound of King Tubby—but I never quite succeeded with plugins. So, we decided to build the filter from scratch. After two years of research and prototyping, we finally completed the first working model.
