On 'Be Still in the Pain' he falls into a ghostly falsetto that fills the top end next to Tricky's wormy analog synth bass and skippy beat, but it's Run Red Rambo, another Bristol talent who helps tie this one together, laying down a rap that perfectly contrasts the other two vocals. And Tricky's hooks still hit hard when they need to - the tear-inducing chorus on 'Paris Maybe' or the druggy callback to a world before Britpop on 'I'm Yours'. And it all comes to a head on the finale, when Tricky brings back Polish singer Marta Złakowska for a track that directly addresses the death of his daughter in 2019. "It's a great way to end the album," he explains in the accompanying press release. "And then I can move on to other things."
